Rhabdomyosarcoma is a highly malignant tumor of skeletal muscle, the initial treatment of which demands a careful plan of action. The recent literature is reviewed in an attempt to establish a reasonable guide to therapy. The cornerstone of treatment is radical surgical removal whenever and wherever possible. The role of radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the control of these tumors is discussed. © 1969.
