This paper describes the first reported occurrence of Odontaspis ferox, in the western Atlantic (Yucatan shelf, Mexico). The geographical distribution of O. ferox is summarized and the likely cosmopolitan distribution of the species is discussed. (C) 1995 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles
