EVIDENCE OF REACTING IODINE SPECIES AT THE SURFACE OF A POLYPHENYLACETYLENE FILM INVESTIGATED BY XPS

摘要
The reaction of iodine vapours on a polyphenylacetylene thin film is investigated. XPS measurements give evidence for a mechanism leading to the formation of very stable (up to 250°C under U.H.V.) 15t- poliiodidc. The dopant species is homogeneously dispersed at the surface, but does not penetrate in the bulk. IR spectra suggest modifications of the polymer structure and formation of charged defects upon doping. © 1990.
