摘要
A molecular theory of collision-induced fine-structure-level transitions in complex atoms is presented. The theory is applied to calculate the excitation cross sections for the fine-structure levels in the P3 ground state of atomic oxygen. We discuss and compare the theory presented here with previous molecular theories.
