AMINO-ACID SEQUENCE OF CARDIOTOXIN-ANALOGUE-2 FROM VENOM OF NAJA-NAJA-ATRA

摘要
Cardiotoxin-analogue II was isolated from the venom of N. n. atra (Formosan cobra) in a yield of 4.5% by gel filtration on Sephadex G-50 followed by CM-cellulose chromatography. When injected s.c. in mice, its LD50 was 56 .mu.g/g body weight. It was cytotoxic to Yoshida sarcoma cells [rat] and caused 50% lysis of the cells at a concentration of 7.4 .mu.g/ml. The amino acid sequence was more similar to that of cardiotoxin rather than that of cardiotoxin-analogue I from the same venom.
