ANALYTICAL CALCULATION OF THE SCATTERING FUNCTION FOR POLYMERS OF ARBITRARY FLEXIBILITY USING THE DIRAC PROPAGATOR

Using an earlier discovered analogy between Dirac's fermions and semiflexible polymers (Ann. Phys. (N.Y.) 1990, 202, 186), the static scattering function is calculated analytically for polymer chains of arbitrary stiffness and length. The obtained results are in excellent agreement with the available Monte Carlo data for semiflexible chains. On the basis of this agreement, a new method of measuring the persistence lengths is proposed.
