摘要
The construction of a low-temperature STM is described which fits within a 30 mm diameter cylindrical space and is capable of sample cleavage at low temperature. The design is based on the combination of a flip-manipulator-type sample holder and a spring-loaded three-ball structure. The loading springs are hooked up to a movable base so that the tension is released while the sample holder performs a large swing to cleave the sample.
