TEMPORAL EVOLUTION OF THE ELECTRON-HOLE PLASMA RECOMBINATION IN QUANTUM WIRES

摘要
We report the results of a spectroscopic investigation of the radiative recombination processes occurring in a dense electron-hole plasma confined in quasi-one-dimensional semiconductor quantum wires. Intersubband transitions involving quantum wire states with quantum number as high as n(y) = 5 are observed in the photoluminescence spectra recorded under stationary conditions of high excitation intensity. The temporal evolution of the luminescence is characterized by a decay time of about 800 ps longer than the one measured in the two-dimensional reference heterostructure.
