摘要
This paper describes the propagation of waves in cladded optical fibres consisting of a graded core medium in addition to a uniform cladding medium. The influence of cladding on propagation characteristics is discussed by means of modal ray optics. The present theory is developed for a general class of cladded inhomogeneous optical fibres.miltiemitter in which projections are allowed to break down and melt at high current densities; (2) Temkin adsorption to form a negatively-charged-adsorbed layer on the metal: (3) field and field-enhanced thermionic emission from a site of low work function; and (4) emission from a semiconductor. © Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
