摘要
The number of circulating hemocytes decreased significantly when 6-day-old bollworm (Heliothis zea) larvae were exposed for 4 days to a high dose of nucleopolyhedrosis virus. No corresponding decrease was observed in nonexposed larvae or in larvae exposed to a low dose of virus. The average number of spherule hemocytes, which normally decreases during prepupation, increased in larvae with nucleopolyhedrosis. The average number of phagocytic cells decreased 31% in nonexposed larvae and 63% in virus-exposed larvae from the 2nd to 3rd day of exposure, respectively. © 1969.
