THEORY OF FAR-INFRARED ATR FROM SURFACE-POLARITONS IN AN N-I-P-I SUPERLATTICE

摘要
We have analysed the surface phonon plasmon polariton spectra in n-i-p-i superlattices using the far-infrared attenuated-total-reflection (ATR) spectroscopy. We have used a theoretical approach based on an effective-medium theory to describe the polariton dispersion relation. The ATR spectrum was calculated not only in the usual way, but also by considering the superlattice as a uniaxial medium. Numerical results are shown and their main features discussed.
