Z(3)-INSTANTONS IN MODELS FOR WETTING OF HOT GLUONS

In the high-temperature deconfined phase of SU(3) pure gauge theory the Z(3) center symmetry is spontaneously broken. At the transition temperature the confined phase coexists with three distinct deconfined phases. The interfaces separating the various phases show universal behavior if the deconfined phases are completly wet by the confined phase. The critical exponents of complete wetting are determined from the instanton solutions of a two-component PHI-4 model with Z(3) symmetry in three dimensions. Complete wetting also causes characteristic finite-volume effects in the spectrum of the spatial transfer matrix. For numerical simulations of interfaces we propose to use C-periodic boundary conditions.
