ANOMALOUSLY ENHANCED RAMAN-SCATTERING FROM C-60 ON AG SURFACES

摘要
Raman spectra have been obtained for sub-ML coverages of C60 on cold-deposited Ag surfaces. The enhancement of these spectra persists upon annealing of the surfaces to almost-equal-to 300 K, unlike typical surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra. After annealing, the C60 spectra have an excitation profile different both from that of SERS and from that of resonant Raman scattering in bulk C60. Thus, the enhancement of the C60 spectra on the annealed Ag surfaces is inconsistent with SERS but may be the result of a resonant Raman process caused by the C60-Ag interaction.
