ALPHA-MERCURIC IODIDE CRYSTAL-GROWTH BY PHYSICAL VAPOR TRANSPORT

摘要
Recent advances in the understanding of the single crystal growth of alpha-mercuric iodide are presented. The two main methods developed by crystal growers give information on thermal and surface kinetic regimes on the one side and mass transport and surface kinetic regimes on the other side. The clear differences observed recently between space and ground-based experimental results emphasize an effect of gravity which seems to be researched in the mass transport and surface kinetic interrelations but not in the overall transport.
