B(p-C6F4H)(3) + P(o-C6H4Me)(3) 25 degrees C, vacuum up down arrow 25 degrees C, H-2 [HB(p-C6F4H)(3)][HP(o-C6H4Me)(3)] The combination of the borane B(p-C6F4H)(3) and (o-C6H4Me)(3)P activates H-2 to give [(o-C6H4Me)(3)PH][HB(P-C6F4H)(3)]. This salt when placed under vacuum releases H-2 at room temperature.
