摘要：

This review deals exclusively with a representative selection of biologically significant phenazines, their natural occurrence, their biosynthesis, the design and synthesis of analogues, and their biological function and possible mode of action. In particular, phenazines produced by streptomycetes are reviewed. Furthermore, generally recognized methods for phenazine synthesis are covered.
