摘要
(Figure Presented) Supramolecular glue: One-dimensional copper-pyridyl coordination chains on a Cu(100) surface are stabilized and ordered by dicarboxylic ligands through hydrogen-bonding interactions. This hierarchical bonding motif demonstrates a strategy for developing complex, yet well-ordered, supramolecular surface structures by self-assembly, such as these stable islands (see picture) with a one-dimensional coordination character. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
