摘要
The authors provide an overview of the evaluation and management of fever in infants and young children. The article reviews the epidemiology of febrile illness in infants less than two months old and in children 3 to 36 months old with emphasis on the incidence of serious bacterial illness and occult bacteremia. Recent developments and prospective research as they relate to the management of febrile children are also discussed.
