摘要
Sugars are capable of acting as regulatory signals that affect gene expression, growth and development in all organisms. Although fundamental, the mechanisms that multicellular eukaryotes use to perceive and transduce these signals are not fully understood. Recent studies in plants have shed light on a conserved sugar signaling pathway that uses hexokinase as a sensor.
