摘要
Less basic: By controlling the pH value of the reaction medium, two different gadolinium-containing nanoscale metal-organic frameworks (NMOFs) based on the same building blocks can be synthesized (see picture). The NMOFs carry a large payload of Gd3+ centers and are efficient contrast agents for T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. The NMOFs are highly luminescent when doped with other lanthanide ions such as Eu and Tb. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
