(Chemical Equation Presented) Closing the circle: RhI-catalyzed [2+2+1] cycloadditions are achieved under mild reaction conditions and in good to excellent yields with catalyst loading as low as 0.1 mol%. The diene-allenes react selectively with the proximal double bonds of the allene and diene units, thus allowing for a variety of substitutions. DCE = 1,2-dichloroethane, TFE = 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, Ts = tosyl. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
