(Figure Presented) Film formation: Polymer-assisted deposition allows the growth of nanocomposite thin films comprising amorphous silica nanoparticles embedded in epitaxial SrTiO3 and CoFe2O4 matrices (see picture). These silica nanoparticles can be as small as 10 nm and become larger with increasing post annealing temperature. The incorporation of silica into epitaxial CoFe2O4 films greatly enhances its coercivity and magnetic anisotropy. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
