(Chemical Equation Presented) "Through-space" migration of palladium between remote carbon atoms appears to take place in the generation of π-allyl-palladium complexes, which are useful intermediates in organic synthesis. The reaction of halogenated arenes with alkynes under Pd-migration conditions provides the mixture of allylic esters A-C (see reaction shown; X = Br, I; R1 = H, OMe, CO2Et, Cl; R2 = Ph, tBu). © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
