A coherence encoding method for optical switching, encryption, and arithmetic

摘要
The concept of coherence encoding, as used for direct image transmission through optical fibers, is used to implement an optical switch which simultaneously has arithmetic and encryption capabilities. The device can operate in free space or through a single-mode fiber link. The coherence encoding switch is analyzed and computer simulation and experimental results are presented.
