Amides derived from (S)-(+)-mandelic acid in the presence of titanium isopropoxide catalyze the enantioselective addition of dimethylzinc to aromatic aldehydes with good yields and cc LIP to 90%. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
