Effect of temperature on separation efficiency in capillary gel electrophoresis

摘要
The effect of the separation temperature on the peak efficiency in capillary gel electrophoresis has been investigated. Low-molecular-mass pharmaceutical and carbohydrate molecules as well as high-molecular-mass biopolymers such as dsDNA and protein molecules were tested. The simple reciprocal relationship between the separation temperature and the theoretical plate numbers is distorted when the charge of the analyte changes with the temperature. Furthermore, the theoretical plates in capillary gel electrophoresis with temperature-susceptible pH buffers and complexation were found to be affected by temperature variations.
