Biantermary beta-D-(1 --> 6) glucosamine hexa-, octa-, and dodecaoligosaccharide derivatives were synthesized convergently using isopropyl thioglycosides as donors in NIS/TMSOTf-catalyzed glycosylation. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
