The review is intended to summarize the research field of chiral ionic liquids over the last two years. Alongside the syntheses of new chiral ionic liquids, their applications are covered. Furthermore, the synthesis of task-specific ionic liquids, also known as functionalized chiral ionic liquids, and their applications are summarized.
