Upper-rim functionalization of calix[4]arene by chloro(isocyanide)gold(I) groups: An entry polymetallic architecture

摘要
The new upper-rim derivatized mono- and tetraisocyanotetra-n-propoxycalix[4]arene ligands and their mono- and tetragold(I) complexes have been synthesized from the monobromotetra-n-propoxycalix[4]arene materials, respectively, in reasonable overall yields. Room-temperature UV-vis and luminescence data indicate that the lowest energy excited states are intraligand π-π* states and that no strong Au··· Au interaction is present in the tetragold complex.
