摘要:
This paper attempts to extend our previous studies on the structure of TiO2(110)-(1 x 1) surface, the anisotropic transport of formate anions on the surface, and the dynamic visualization of surface/gas-phase reaction at 800 K. The paper also reports the first atom-resolved non-contact AFM image of TiO2(110)-(1 x 1), which reveals protruding bridge-oxygen atoms ordered in a (1 x 1) periodicity and point defects of the oxygen atoms on terraces. STM also resolved and traced the individual pyridine molecules that are mobile on the oxide surface. Site-specific adsorption of pyridine on the particular step sites highly oriented toward the [001] axis on TiO2(110)-(1 x 1) was also atomically resolved. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
