Ozonolysis for the preparation of high oxidation-state transition-metal complexes and the crystal structure of [PPh4]2[Ru2O(μ-OCOEt)2Cl6]

摘要
An ozone-oxygen mixture has been used to generate a number of high oxidation-state transition-metal complexes in aqueous solution at room temperature by simple and safe procedures. Species so prepared include the oxo species [(OsO4)-O-VIII], [(RuO4)-O-VIII], Cis-[(OsO4)-O-VIII(OH)(2)](2-), trans-[(OsO2)-O-VI(OH)(4)](2-), [(RuO4)-O-VII](-), trans-[Ru-VI(OH)(2)O-3](2-), [(VO4)-O-V](3-) and the new complex [PPh4](2)[Ru2O(mu-OCOEt)(2)Cl-6] 1 for which the crystal structure is reported; the polyoxometalates K-6[(MnMo9O32)-Mo-IV]. 10H(2)O, K-8[(MnW6O24)-W-IV]. 6H(2)O, [NH4](2)[(MnMo6H6O24)-Mo-IV]. 20H(2)O and Na-8[(CeW10O36)-W-IV]. 8H(2)O; the chloro complexes [(MCl6)-Cl-IV](2-) (M = Pt, Pd, Ir) and [(AuCl4)-Cl-III](-), and manganic acetate [Mn-III(OAc)(3)]. 2H(2)O. Ozonolytic oxidation of coordinated benzylamine in cis-[Ru-II(bipy)(2)(NH2CH2Ph)(2)][PF6](2) to coordinated benzonitrile in cis[Ru-II(bipy)(2)(NCPh)(2)][PF6](2) is also reported.
