摘要
The replacement of the benzyl ethers from the periphery of self-assembling dendritic dipeptides with naphthyl ethers provided the simplest mechanism to enhance the thermal stability of their supramolecular pores in bulk, solution, and in vesicles. This strategy facilitated transport studies via dendritic dipeptide pores reconstituted in phospholipid vesicles and demonstrated that hydrophobic pores with D (pore) 14.5 +/- 1.5 angstrom transport water and protons and do not transport Li+, Na+, and Cl-. Therefore, these pores provide a primitive mimic of Aquaporin that selectively transports water but does not reject protons.
