Poly(β-malic acid) derivatives with non-charged hydrophilic lateral groups:: synthesis and characterization

摘要
Poly((3-hydroxypropyl beta malate) has been synthesized starting from aspartic acid and benzyloxy-1-propanol as precursors. This new polymer was characterized by H-1 and C-13 NMR, size exclusion chromatography and differential scanning calorimetry. Homopolymer is soluble in water. Two kinds of amphiphilic copolymers were also prepared and characterized. Such polymers have been synthesized with a view to preparing non-charged degradable associating networks or drug carriers.
