摘要
Dense and pure Ti3SiC2 polycrystals were synthesized using as-received powders of 3Ti/SiC/C by reactive hot isostactic pressing (HIPin). The adaptability of Ti3SiC2 for biomaterials was evaluated in respect to mechanical properties, biocompatibility, and corrosion behavior among other factors. No adverse foreign body reactions were observed in vivo for Ti3SiC2. Absence of reaction products on the surface of Ti3SiC2 demonstrated that Ti3SiC2 is a bioinert material. Ti3SiC2 has a lower corrosion resistance in 0.9% NaCl solution as compared with Ti-6Al-4V since passive oxide film was formed slowly.
