Metallic conductivity down to 2K in a polyoxometalate-containing radical salt of BEDO-TTF

摘要
A lengthy search in conducting hybrids: Molecular metals containing bulky and highly charged polyoxometalates can be prepared. The synthetic strategy is based on the combination of the bis(ethylenedioxo)tetrathiafulvalene (BEDO-TTF) donor (see picture; ball-and-stick representation) with inorganic layers made of Keggin polyoxometalates (polyhedral representation) and K+ ions. This hybrid compound shows a conductivity of 910 S cm-1 at 2 K.
