Self-assembling polymer-peptide conjugates: Nanostructural tailoring

摘要
Modulation of nanoscale assembly of febrils by incorporating polyethylene glycol into the backbone of self assembling β-sheets was analyzed. Insertion of nonpeptide random-coil-forming polymers within the peptide backbone modulated βsheet fibril dimensions. It was found that Q11-PEG produced different nanostructures from unmodified Q11. Alternative Methods for producing β-sheet peptide PEG copolymers broadened the synthetic possibilities for producing the structures.
