摘要
Functional oligothiophenes were used to develop molecular design for multidimensional nanoarchitectures and their applications. The functional oligothiophenes were used by researchers all over the world as active components in organic electronic devices and molecular electronics. These oligothiophenes were synthesized by oxidative homocoupling or metal-catalyzed C-C-coupling. Various characterization methods, such as absorption and emission spectroscopy, along with cyclic voltammetry were used to analyze the electronic properties of these materials. These materials were considered suitable for molecular electronics as they possessed large number of electrons and provided the ability to acquire positive charges, transporting them through self-assembled monolayers (SAM) or thin films. Experimental and theoretical investigations were carried out to understand the assembling and electrical behavior of these materials.
