A three-dimensional zinc(II) complex consisting of single metal centers and pentanuclear clusters bridged by 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate

摘要
Hydrothermal reaction of 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid (H(3)btc), 2,2-bipyridine (bipy) and Zn(CH3CO2)(2)(.)2H(2)O gave rise to a three-dimensional polymer [Zn-3.5(mu(3)-OH)(btc)(2)(bipy)(2)(H2O)-H-.](n) (1). X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that 1 consists of pentanuclear metal clusters and single metal centers bridged by btc(3-). The pentanuclear zinc(II) clusters are connected by btc(3-) to give rise to a two-dimensional double layer motif. The neighbor double layers are further joined by single metal centers to create a three-dimensional porous framework. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
