Chiral lanthanide complexes: Coordination chemistry and applications

The lanthanide elements have unique reactivity and magnetic and optical properties which were fundamental to most of their applications. As such, a survey was conducted on chiral lanthanide complexes and some of the applications that combine the unique properties of the lanthanides with a chiral coordination sphere. The combination of magnetic properties with a chiral coordination sphere resulted in the first application of chiral lanthanide complexes.
