Rhodium-catalyzed carbon-carbon bond forming reactions of organometallic compounds

The carbon-carbon bond forming reactions of organometallic compounds catalyzed by rhodium were studied. The crystal structures of rhodium-aryl complexes were also obtained with a diverse range of ancillary ligands. It was found that the demetalations were catalyzed by the rhodium metal and occured because the aryl-rhodium bond could be more sensitive to protonolysis than the original organometallic compound from which it was derived.
