CrN single-crystal growth using Cr-Ga-Na ternary melt

摘要
Regular octahedral CrN single crystals with a maximum size of 75 mum were obtained by heating Cr-Ga-Na ternary melt at 850degreesC and 3 MPa of N-2 for 200 It. X-ray powder and single-crystal diffractometry revealed that the CrN single crystals had the cubic rock-salt structure with the lattice parameter a = 4.1467(8) Angstrom. The CrN single crystals exhibited antiferromagnetism below the Neel temperature of 290 K. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
