Vacuum-driven anionic ligand exchange of a perfluorocarboxylic acid with ruthenate-bound perfluorocarboxylates is demonstrated and allows for a novel entry to solid-supported ruthenium benzylidenes. (C) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
