A variety of tertiary, secondary and primary organonitrogen compounds have been efficiently and selectivity oxidized to their corresponding N-oxides, nitrones, and nitro compounds with molecular oxygen using methyltrioxorhenium as catalyst. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
