摘要
Glow discharges are used as powerful ion sources with a direct current in atomic spectrometry. They allow a direct analysis of electrically non-conducting environmental samples. Soils and particulate matter can be directly analyzed by electrothermal vaporization (ETV) or by laser ablation in combination with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS). With glow discharges of different shapes and at different working conditions, samples of different states of aggregate can be analyzed.
