摘要
A convergent total synthesis of the natural compound mycophenolic acid 1 is described. The synthetic strategy for the construction of the hexasubstituted aromatic nucleus was based on a ring annulation sequence, involving a Michael addition reaction and intramolecular Dieckmann condensation reaction in situ as the key step. Subsequent transformations of the substituents afforded the target mycophenolic acid 1. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
