Significantly enhanced enantioselectivity in the enzymatic kinetic resolution of 1,2-diols employing immobilized lipase from Pseudomonas cepacia (PS-C, 'Amano') results from the use of the ionic liquid [bmim]PF6 as reaction medium. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
