摘要
The spectral behavior of a laser diode exposed to Rayleigh backscattering from a single-mode fiber is investigated for arbitrary laser-fiber coupling efficiency, fiber length, and coherence time of the light of the free running source. A simple formula is given which relates the maximum coupling efficiency to the coherence time with the condition that the source spectrum is not distorted.
