MAGNETIC COUPLING IN HIGH MOMENT FCC FE/NI MULTILAYERS

摘要
Ni layers stabilize Fe into an f.c.c. structure in Fe/Ni multilayers, prepared by ion-assisted sputtering, for composition modulation wave-lengths between 17 and 46 angstrom. The observed stabilization of the magnetization, relative to f.c.c. Fe on Cu and Cu/Ni multilayers, may be explained by assuming a magnetic coupling between the Fe and Ni layers which enhances the magnetization of both the f.c.c. Fe and the Ni.
