RADIATION-INDUCED EFFECTS IN CDSSE MICROCRYSTALLITES EMBEDDED IN GLASS

摘要
The nonpermanent part of the photodarkening effect in a laser pulse exposed CdSSe-doped glass OG 550 is measured by transient grating ps-experiments. The effect appears as a weak recovery of both linear and nonlinear optical properties and a decrease in carrier lifetime density-dependent component as a funtion of the time elapsed (about 1.5 h) after the exposition. We have interpreted the photodarkening phenomenon as a photo induced microcrystallites (MC) ionization and the nonpermanent effect as being due to dipole interaction with the electron excited to the glass matrix. The carrier lifetime components are consistently explained by excitonic band-band Auger recombination, taking into account a term of three particle single-recombination event.
