摘要
Streptomyces narbonensis var. josamyceticus josamycin fermentation broth exhibited typical pseudo-plastic flow. The power requirement in a stirred vessel for the broth was approximately equal to that for the broth diluted with water by half or for water itself, except in a range of lower agitation speeds. However, the flow patterns were quite different. Dilution of the broth with water produced some advantages, such as a drastic reduction in the apparent viscosity of the broth and an improvement in the flow pattern. Josamycin yield was significantly affected by the degree of oxygen supply by various fixed agitation speeds. To improve oxygen supply and josamycin yield, periodic dilution with water successfully applied to josamycin fermentation. © 1990.
